Entrance Requirements
HCA Entrance Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have completed grade 12 High School or GED or Mature Student Status (defined as at least 19 years of age and one year out of high school).
- Provide evidence of current immunization (prior to practicum).
- Must provide both a clear Criminal Records and Child Abuse Registry search.
- Must have basic oral and written English communication skills.
- Applicants with EAL must submit Canadian Language Benchmark scores indicating minimum scores of level 7 in speaking, listening and reading tests, and level 6 in the writing test.
- Applicants may be asked to attend a pre-admission interview to assess eligibility and suitability for the program.

Certificate Challenge Entrance Requirements
*At the application stage of the following must be provided to MSL*
- Current employer letter indicating a minimum of 1200 hours worked within the past 24 months and a position or job description; if working for multiple employers, the total hours must be at least 1200 hours.
- For foreign-trained nurses, copy of a degree in nursing. Degree Programs will be evaluated for acceptance to the program.
- Current Resume.
- Photo I.D. (e.g. birth certificate, passport, valid drivers license.)
- Social Insurance Number.
- Original copies of the Child Abuse Registry Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Records Check (current within 6 months).
- ESL applicants must submit the Canadian Language Benchmark Scores indicating test scores of level 7 in speaking, listening, and reading and writing. Winnipeg English Language Assessment and Referral Centre at (204) 943-5387 or refer to website at: www.welarc.net/index.html
